Hello!! It’s been a long while since I’ve posted on this blog; I’ve missed it and I’ve missed you too!! I hope you will take a moment to read it and enjoy my future posts. On to some thoughts!
Today marks the sixth day of protests regarding the George Floyd killing by a Minneapolis police officer. The protests are happening in numerous cities throughout the U.S., and though many have been relatively peaceful, several have incited violence and rioting. I am reminded of the 1991 riots sparked by the acquittal of white police officers who beat Rodney King, a black construction worker.
We need to be talking about race relations in our communities, and it begins at the kitchen table. Talking to our kids is paramount to putting an end to racism in our cities, our countries, and our world. With this in mind, I’d like to share a powerful excerpt from a poem I heard this morning by a young woman named Cleo Wade. She’s only 30, but she’s wise beyond her years. Check this out:
I hope this poem inspires you as it did me. Looking forward to sharing more thoughts and insights with you through At Home With Cheri in the future!!
Have a great day, and be safe out there!!

Hi Cheri
After all of these years, I never knew about this blog. It’s delightfully! That room is Daniel’s Former bedroom. Looks nothing like yours!
Does your blog appear daily or do I have to sign up for it?
Have a safe day! xo
