My Favorite Closet Hack

Hi There! How’re you doing in this last part of summer? Hope you’re not too hot! Today I’m going to share with you a favorite hack that will give you a more organized closet. So let’s get started!

This hack is free if you drink soda or sparkling water. You know the tab on top of the aluminum cans? You just wiggle it up and down until it snaps off– it comes off really easily.

(Le Croix has become my favorite drink– no calories or sugar–. I literally drink five cans a day. And I love that the little tab on top can double your closet space!!)

When I first learned of this hack I sprinted to my recycle bin and pulled out all the Le Croix cans and snapped off the tabs. I was SO excited!!

Here’s what you do next: Pull out two hangers and put one hole of the tab onto the first hanger, and put the second hanger through the other hole, like this:

You can continue to put tabs down more hangers and hang more clothes, but I only had vertical space in my closet to put two hangers on one tab. But by doing this I DOUBLED my hanging space, so now the hangers are not so crowded. (Oh Glory Be!!)

I measured this dress space, and it’s only 18 inches wide. I was able to fit 30 dresses in here, with room to spare! I also recommend using flocked hangers, all the same color. You can get these at Costco, but they only have black now.

I organized each set of hangers by similar clothing items: My dress section is categorized by sleeveless dresses, winter dresses, formal dresses, and long and short dresses. I also did my jacket area; I have it separated out by vests, black jackets, denim, and printed jackets.

This little soda tab trick makes me SO happy– don’t you just LOVE easy and free hacks? All you need to do is drink a lot of soda, haha!
